Private Lessons vs. Learning Series: Which Creative Path is Right for You?
If you’ve spent a fun afternoon with us in the studio, you’re likely familiar with our standard workshops. They are fantastic for trying a new medium or making a quick weekend project, but when you want to build real momentum, master a skill, or tackle a unique idea, we offer two additional ways to learn: our Learning Series and Private Lessons.
Designed to help you move beyond single-session crafting, both options give you dedicated access to our expert instructors and fully stocked studios. However, they cater to very different learning styles, schedules, and personal goals. Here is a quick breakdown to help you choose the right path for your crafting journey!

Option 1: The Learning Series
A structured, multi-week deep dive with a community of fellow crafters.
If you love clear progression and social learning, our Learning Series is built for you. These multi-session courses are designed to take you from foundational basics to independent confidence over several weeks. Sign up for our learning series and commit some time each week to move towards your goals with help from our instructors, like you would at a yoga studio!
Choose a Learning Series if:
-
You want a guided curriculum: You prefer a clear roadmap where each weekly lesson builds directly on the skills you learned in the previous session.
-
You enjoy group energy: You feel inspired learning alongside a cohort of peers who are sharing the exact same learning curve and project milestones.
-
You like scheduled accountability: Having a dedicated weekly time slot helps you prioritize your creative hobbies and stick to a routine.

Option 2: Private Lessons
1-on-1, fully customized instruction tailored around your project and schedule.
If you have a specific goal in mind or need personal troubleshooting, Private Lessons offer our most direct and flexible learning experience. You get our instructor's undivided attention focused entirely on what you want to create. We allow 2 participants at a private lesson, so it’s a great way to spend some quality time with a partner or loved one. We offer private lessons in a variety of different mediums.
Choose Private Lessons if:
-
You have a specific target project: Need help adjusting a garment pattern, fixing a specific technique roadblock, or working with a unique material? We customize the session around your exact project.
-
You need ultimate scheduling flexibility: Fixed multi-week class schedules don't work with your calendar, and you need to book times that suit your busy life.
-
You learn best 1-on-1: You prefer individualized feedback, direct troubleshooting, and learning at your own exact pace without group distractions.

Still unsure which path makes sense for your goals? Reach out to our team at the studio—we’re always happy to help match you with the right setup!
