


Custom Rug Tufting Commission
Do you love the look of a tufted rug or tapestry but don't have time or don't want to make it yourself? Craft Loft now offers commission services to create your custom image in tufted rug format!
Simply choose the size of your custom rug, send us the image and we will take care of the rest. If you have a custom size in mind, please reach out to us directly for a custom quote (hello@craft-loft.com).

Payment and Rights

Commission payment is in advance and non-refundable. If you choose an image that is not a good fit for rug tufting as a medium, we will let you know and you can either adjust your image or send us a different image.

You agree to not resell the rug.

You must have the rights to use the image and grant Craft Loft use of the image in the creation of your commissioned item. We will not use your image in any other way.
Pricing and Image Details
- Images requiring more than 6 colors or has a complex design may require additional time and cost. We will let you know before starting on the commission.

Tufting is like painting with crayon, but yarn. Unlike pen and paper, yarn and canvas are soft and flexible. Also, yarn color may not match your image color exactly. Our artists may need to make adjustments on the fly and choose the closest approximation to make the image work. You agree to allow and accept such artist adjustments. You also acknowledge that yarn fibers naturally blend into each other and lines may show such blending.
What You Will Get
The finished product will be a flat piece of tufted rug WITHOUT any fixtures. The edging is open and not a serged edge. While your rug will be well made, we do not recommend using your tufted rug in high traffic areas such as bath mat or door mat. To display your rug, we recommend attaching it to a hard backing and then attach picture hanging hardware to the backing to avoid damaging the rug.
Time to Finish
Rug tufting is a time consuming craft. We will give you an estimate for time to completion when you send us the image. The estimated timeline is dependent on other commission orders and our staff availability and may vary from 1 week to 4 weeks. If you need your order by a certain time, please leave a note during checkout. Rush order may incur an additional fee.
Shipping
Shipping rate is quoted as Ground UPS for continental US addresses. If you have an island address or international address, please send it to us for a separate shipping quote.
Faqs
How do I book for a workshop?
The best way to book for a workshop is through our website. We close sign up 48 hours prior to the workshop, or when it sells out, whichever comes first, so be sure to book ahead!
Can I bring my child to a workshop?
Yes, please make sure that your child is at least as old as the minimum age requirement for the workshop and that they are accompanied by an adult. Each adult can bring up to two minors to a workshop. Each child should have their own ticket and no more than 1 adult caretaker. Additional adults in your party should have their own ticket.
The workshop sign up is closed on-line, can I still sign up?
Please call the store to see if there is enough seating or materials available. Last minute accommodations are up to the discretion of the store staff and host. We recommend booking your tickets at least 48 hour in advance.
Can I bring a guest to the workshop and they'll just sit with me and watch?
All workshop attendees need to have their own ticket. However, an adult caretaker can accompany a minor younger than 18 years old free of charge (one adult per minor please). Check your workshop details for minimum age requirements to ensure that the workshop is appropriate for the minor.
Can I take my project home?
In most workshops, you will be able to complete and take the project home. However, some projects require curing or drying time and may need to stay at the store until ready. Please check your workshop description for details.
What should I do if I need to reschedule or cancel my workshop?
We can provide store credit or reschedule your workshop as long as you let us know at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. Please see our Refund Policy here for more details.
What should I do if I'm running late for my workshop?
We understand that traffic and emergencies happen and hope that you can make it to your workshop on time. If you arrive late, we will do our best to catch you up on the content and steps covered for the workshop, but your host is not able to stay beyond the scheduled end time for the workshop. If you cannot make it to your workshop, you can transfer your ticket to another person and they can attend in your place. Unfortunately we do not offer store credit or reschedules for no shows. Can I bring my dog?
We regularly have doggy visitors and well-behaved and quiet pups that get along with other humans and dogs are welcome! However, we are not responsible if your dog ingests something they shouldn't.
