Learn to Sew Series (Boston Wednesdays 3-5pm)

Want to learn how to sew?  Hem pants or make a pillow?  Join our Learn to Sew Series for step-by-step guidance and learn useful hand sewing, embroidery and sewing techniques.  We will explore a variety of tools and materials and create usable projects along the way!

Sessions meet weekly.  Each month will focus on a project to help you learn fundamental techniques, incorporate prior knowledge and develop confidence.   Example projects  and topics include:  tote bag, hem pants and alter clothes, hand embroidery, quilting and more!

• Relaxing, supportive and creative environment is the space and time you need for yourself

Materials Included:  Sewing needle set, pin cushion, tea towel and 1 skein of embroidery floss.  Sewing machines are available if you don't have your own (choose the "Rent a Machine" option during check out).  Fabric is not included, so feel free to bring your own or purchase in store.

Min. Age:  13yrs old.  Minors must have an adult to sign the liability waiver upon joining and an adult should be reachable via cell phone or present in the same building during the workshop.

Cancellation:  You can cancel any time and manage the subscription directly from the link included in your confirmation email.

Missed Sessions:  In case you cannot make it to a session in the series, you can join the same session running at a different location or simply go to the next session and your instructor will catch you up.

How do I book for a workshop?

The best way to book for a workshop is through our website.  We close sign up 48 hours prior to the workshop, or when it sells out, whichever comes first, so be sure to book ahead!

Can I bring my child to a workshop?

Yes, please make sure that your child is at least as old as the minimum age requirement  for the workshop and that they are accompanied by an adult.  Each adult can bring up to two minors to a workshop.  Each child should have their own ticket and no more than 1 adult caretaker.   Additional adults in your party should have their own ticket.

The workshop sign up is closed on-line, can I still sign up?

Please call the store to see if there is enough seating or materials available.  Last minute accommodations are up to the discretion of the store staff and host.  We recommend booking your tickets at least 48 hour in advance.  

Can I bring a guest to the workshop and they'll just sit with me and watch?
All workshop attendees need to have their own ticket.  However, an adult caretaker can accompany a minor younger than 18 years old free of charge (one adult per minor please).  Check your workshop details for minimum age requirements to ensure that the workshop is appropriate for the minor.  

Can I take my project home?

In most workshops, you will be able to complete and take the project home.  However, some projects require curing or drying time and may need to stay at the store until ready.  Please check your workshop description for details.

What should I do if I need to reschedule or cancel my workshop?

We can provide store credit or reschedule your workshop as long as you let us know at least 48 hours prior to the workshop.  Please see our Refund Policy here for more details.

What should I do if I'm running late for my workshop?

We understand that traffic and emergencies happen and hope that you can make it to your workshop on time.  If you arrive late, we will do our best to catch you up on the content and steps covered for the workshop, but your host is not able to stay beyond the scheduled end time for the workshop.  If you cannot make it to your workshop, you can transfer your ticket to another person and they can attend in your place.  Unfortunately we do not offer store credit or reschedules for no shows.  Please see our Refund Policy here for more details.

Can I bring my dog?

We regularly have doggy visitors and well-behaved and quiet pups that get along with other humans and dogs are welcome!  However, we are not responsible if your dog ingests something they shouldn't.
