Craft + Sip: Bonsai 101 at CanalSide Food + Drink

Get hands-on and creative with planting your very own bonsai tree while sipping a drink at CanalSide Food + Drink! Come join a Master Gardener and learn about the ancient art of Bonsai, its history, fun facts, and myth busters. We will show you all the crucial steps needed (and why) to transition a bonsai-tree-in-training into its first real bonsai pot, and provide tips for care so that it will flourish for years to come.

Ticket purchase includes one beverage ticket with the options of premium beers, wine, non-alcoholic mocktails and soft drinks. Each ticket option is for one attendee only. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer the guest option for this workshop. 

Pet Safety Note: If you have concerns or questions about pet safety, please note that bonsai plant toxicity varies by species. We ask that pet owners conduct their own research or consult with a veterinarian before bringing a bonsai into their home.

How do I book for a workshop?

The best way to book for a workshop is through our website.  We close sign up 48 hours prior to the workshop, or when it sells out, whichever comes first, so be sure to book ahead!

Can I bring my child to a workshop?

Yes, please make sure that your child is at least as old as the minimum age requirement  for the workshop and that they are accompanied by an adult.  Each adult can bring up to two minors to a workshop.  Each child should have their own ticket and no more than 1 adult caretaker.   Additional adults in your party should have their own ticket.

The workshop sign up is closed on-line, can I still sign up?

Please call the store to see if there is enough seating or materials available.  Last minute accommodations are up to the discretion of the store staff and host.  We recommend booking your tickets at least 48 hour in advance.  

Can I bring a guest to the workshop and they'll just sit with me and watch?
All workshop attendees need to have their own ticket.  However, an adult caretaker can accompany a minor younger than 18 years old free of charge (one adult per minor please).  Check your workshop details for minimum age requirements to ensure that the workshop is appropriate for the minor.  

Can I take my project home?

In most workshops, you will be able to complete and take the project home.  However, some projects require curing or drying time and may need to stay at the store until ready.  Please check your workshop description for details.

What should I do if I need to reschedule or cancel my workshop?

We can provide store credit or reschedule your workshop as long as you let us know at least 48 hours prior to the workshop.  Please see our Refund Policy here for more details.

What should I do if I'm running late for my workshop?

We understand that traffic and emergencies happen and hope that you can make it to your workshop on time.  If you arrive late, we will do our best to catch you up on the content and steps covered for the workshop, but your host is not able to stay beyond the scheduled end time for the workshop.  If you cannot make it to your workshop, you can transfer your ticket to another person and they can attend in your place.  Unfortunately we do not offer store credit or reschedules for no shows.  Please see our Refund Policy here for more details.

I couldn't make it to the workshop yesterday, can I get a refund?

Can I bring my dog?

We regularly have doggy visitors and well-behaved and quiet pups that get along with other humans and dogs are welcome!  However, we are not responsible if your dog ingests something they shouldn't.
